Yoga Alliance 200-RYT
International Center for Reiki Training
American Canyon, CA
Helena Fowler is a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 yoga instructor, Usui Reiki practitioner, trained under the guidelines of the International Center for Reiki Training, and nutrition counselor completing her Food, Nutrition and Health Certificate from the University of Washington while studying to become a Registered Dietitian.
As a classically trained ballet dancer for nearly 25 years and an actively practicing yogi for over 10 years, Helena has a unique understanding of the human body. After requiring extensive reconstructive hip surgery at a relatively young age, she discovered the necessity of modifications to accommodate the particular challenges of recovery and healing. Because of this, Helena focuses her yoga instruction on two key areas: Yoga for Healing and Yoga for Athletes.
Helena believes that a healthy body starts with a healthy, grounded mind and a calm, energized spirit. Through Reiki and Guided Meditation, Helenahelps clients find relief from stress, anxiety and the chaos of their busy lives. With the powerful, healing Reiki energy and the added intense power of the mind through Guided Meditation, clients can get closer to achieving a more balanced, grounded sense of wellbeing.
Through personal struggles with thyroid functionality beginning at the age of 19, as well as developing later-in-life food sensitivities, Helena developed a keen understanding of the way food fuels and nourishes the body. Helena believes in applying an East-meets-West approach to nutritional health. Her Nutrition Counseling services are grounded in fact-based science and established best practices (Western approach), while including holistic methods (Eastern influence) that, together, address each client’s individual nutritional profile for a well-rounded nutrition program.
Healthy, well-balanced bodies, minds and spirits start from the inside out!
Off the yoga mat and away from the office, Helena enjoys spending time with her husband, yoga (of course!), cooking, hiking, biking, enjoying all of the beauty northern CA has to offer, traveling and connecting with her community as a volunteer firefighter. She is working toward becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, Registered Dietitian and Ayurvedic practitioner.
